OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Arts Visharad Sanskrit (BAVS) is a three-year degree program designed as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 Guidelines, offered by Janaprabha College, Ramtek. This course is approved by the Government of Maharashtra Department of Higher and Technical Education and is affiliated with Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU), Ramtek, a State University that is UGC 12B and 2(f) approved and NAAC A+ accredited.

Duration : 3 Years Divided in 6 Semesters

Medium of Instructions :Marathi/English/Hindi/Sanskrit

 

The course is spread over six semesters, with each semester focusing on core aspects of Sanskrit language and literature. It includes:

Core Subjects: Classical Sanskrit texts, grammar, Indian philosophy, Vedic studies, and linguistics.

 

Elective Subjects: Students can choose from electives that enhance their understanding of specific areas such as epigraphy, Sanskrit drama, and ancient Indian history.

 

Practical Training: Language labs, workshops, and practical sessions that focus on Sanskrit conversation, script reading, and text interpretation.

 

Research Projects: Opportunities to work on projects and Ph.D. thesis related to Sanskrit studies.
